I just pasted this onto my keyboard to remind me when I'm tempted.
I'm blogging about programming, but ... hey look over there - it's something shiny!

Pictures from Austin .Net User's Group - January 14, 2013 - SignalR - Brian Sullivan
Fifty people came to hear Brian Sullivan talk about the SignalR .net library.
SignalR facilitates sharing and pushing content between a server and clients. SignalR uses Web Sockets if the browser and infrastructure support this HTML feature. If not supported, SignalR tries other methods like traditional ajax calls, the forever frame (slowing sending script tags to an iframe), and Long Polling. On the server side SignalR only works on Windows8 using the latest IIS for hosting.
Brian gave an impressive demo of quickly building a Kanban board viewable in real time by many clients. BTW, only two of the fifty people admitted to know nothing of Kanban.
